This Autumn, embrace the Fall foliage with your lover. If you’re both the outdoorsy type, set out onto a local trail for a date on four hooves instead of two feet.

Horseback riding is a great way to explore the outdoors. But let’s be real, we’re not all “horse whisperers;” these animals are big and can be intimidating. If you’re not comfortable riding solo, then saddle up with your man and go double. Hopefully, he will exude that fresh air of confidence you love so much about him, and take the reigns while you wrap your arms around his waist. Whatever the situation, head down to the local stable, and strap on your riding gear for a fun-filled day of horsing around.

If you’re still nervous, don’t say, “neigh” just yet. There are training sessions available for you and your mate.  Find a local ranch and sign up for a riding excursion and let your guide show you the way. If you think that’s overdoing it a bit, then sign up for a couple riding lessons. Practice makes perfect, and you don’t want to look like a rookie.

Now you want to ride; you’re ready to go, but there’s one problem: you live in a city, or a place where stables and ranches are few and far between. Not to worry, you and your honey can plan a weekend vacation at a cozy bed and breakfast, or a comfy hotel hidden deep in the countryside.  Sporadic weekend adventures, coupled with a new hobby like horseback riding are a great way to establish a common ground, and keep your relationship feeling fresh.
